Biography

Claire Eliot is a designer and a creative technologist who designs interactive garments and makes research on new process of manufacturing. Fascinated by all what fashion says about our social behavior, Claire Eliot joined the Duperré School, where she became interested in the links between fashion style and new technologies. Then she developed technical skills at the ENSCI and together with hackers learned more about electronics. She now makes the connection between fashion and digital and highlights connections between these apparent paradoxical sectors. Identifying herself with the “Critical Design” movement, she considers that the designer is an artist who has a social role to play. She is co-founder of ‘The Fashiontech’, an association that aims to bring together stakeholders wishing to participate in developing technologies and ethics fashion and organizes events around this vision.

She works on electronic integration into textile to obtain wearable clothes with different properties like flexibility, thinness, lightness.
