Take Part

Who can take part in the festival?

Anyone interested or working in the field of wearable electronics and fashion tech is more than welcome! Students, employees, entrepreneurs, company representatives, startups, investors, artists, designers, etc.

I would like to contribute as a speaker or artist. How can I apply?

Please fill in the application form, we will get back to you then.

What are the criteria of choosing speakers and other contributors?

First of all we need all the information completely filled in the Call for Contribution form. Additionally, the decision is based on the quality of the proposal, relevance of the suggested topic and fitting into our festival program.

How will I find out if you chose my contribution proposal?

We will look through all applications and are going to get back to you via email as soon as possible.

When do I have to finish preparing my session?

As soon as possible if you want to be on our website for the audience to check out the program. Otherwise we do not need your presentation beforehand.

Do contributors have to buy a festival ticket?

No, all accepted contributors get free access to the festival on both days.

Do I as a contributor get a fee?

Unfortunately, due to the fair ticket prices we aren’t able to pay you a fee.

Do I as a contributor get a refund on travel expenses?

Yes, but this depends on where you are located. Please send an email to jasmin@wearit-berlin.com beforehand to discuss this further.

How long is one session?

Either 10, 20 or 30 minutes…depending on the topic.

Volunteers

How can I apply as a volunteer?

Anytime by filling out the volunteers application form. Please let us know which day you want to work as a volunteer (June 19th and/or 20th).

What are my tasks as a volunteer?

We are going to send all volunteers the shift schedule until June 10th. Tasks include setting up the exhibition and entrance area (no mechanical skills needed), working at the wardrobe, putting away used dishes, helping speakers if they have questions, etc.

What do I as a volunteer receive in return?

You get a free ticket to both festival days and free catering (drinks included). 

I got sick or have to cancel my shift as a volunteer otherwise. What do I do?

Things do happen…but please send an email to hi@wearit-berlin.com as soon as possible.

Location

When and where is the Wear It Festival?

On June 19 – 20 2018 at Palais Kulturbrauerei, Schönhauser Allee 36, 10435 Berlin.

How do I get to the venue?

Close by there is the U-Bahn station Eberswalderstraße. You may also get there by tram (M1 and M10). Taxis can be found through the MyTaxi app. Car to go and other car rental services are available all over the city.

Is the location wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the entire location is barrier-free. There is a spacious elevator to get to the second floor.

Is there free wifi available at the Palais?

Yes

Tickets

Can I cancel my ticket reservation?

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. You may give your ticket to somebody else who would like to join the event.

How do I re-register another person who is going to take my spot instead?

Just send us a short email to hi@wearit-berlin.com with the name and email address of the person who is going to substitute you. Additionally, we need the ticket number. To modify the name on the name tag we need those information until May 31st at 12pm.

The ticket is too expensive for you?

Become a volunteer or get engaged by giving a speech, workshop or performance! There is no 100% guarantee we will choose you.

Why should I get a Business Ticket? What’s included?

As a holder of the Business Ticket you get a company badge and proof for your company’s tax return. Also this means you are a premium company representative and have access to the Experts Dinner on June 9th which is perfect for networking.

Do I have to bring the ticket as proof?

Yes, please bring your ticket to the festival either printed or as proof on your phone.

Miscellaneous

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Yes, kids are welcome and don’t need tickets up to and including the age of 16.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, the venue allows dogs.
