“We want to take you to Mars!”

“We want to take you to Mars!” – Sophie Gruber, Board Member at Austrian Space Forum

Wear It Innovation Summit aimed to address different interests in wearable tech, which was successfully put into practice during various Talks, Workshops and Networking Sessions.

Materials and Product Development, one of the topics highlighted at the event, tackles an industry which has numerous applicabilities. The Keynote Speaker for this Focus topic was Sophie Gruber, Board Member at Austrian Space Forum.

In her talk, Sophie talked about the development and challenges the team has encountered while developing the Spacesuit for the AMADEE-18 Mars Simulation which is going to go to Mars in the foreseeable future. Over 20 nations are involved in testing all the possible applications of the Suit on Mars, like checking for life signs, water resources and more.

“What we want to do is go to Mars. And we cannot do it alone. We have to do it together as mankind.” – Sophie Gruber, Board Member at Austrian Space Forum

On top of that, participants in the Materials and Product Development hands-on session had the opportunity to hold material samples (such as gloves, etc.) and potentially become a partner in solving the questions they are faced with in developing the right textile material for the suit: “What we want to do is go to Mars. And we cannot do it alone. We have to do it together as mankind.” – Sophie Gruber, Board Member at Austrian Space Forum

Wear It Innovation Summit addresses decision-makers, Startups and game-changers and lawmakers alike. Its main goal is to change the daily life of every single person for the better.
